• huatau . our big idea

Our vision is to create meaningful contemporary taonga to enrich everyday life and contribute to a living, evolving expression of Māori creativity.

  • ngā taonga . our products

We create art prints, enamel pins, jewellery, stickers and woven patches. It is the notion of creating beautiful taonga that guides the dreams of Waihonga.

  • whakaingoā . choosing a name

In te reo Māori, Waihonga means Nectar; the sweet essence gathered from a flower. This name reflects the act of gathering and sharing something precious: beauty, knowledge, creativity and experiences. Waihonga seeks to gather the essence of ideas, stories, relationships and express them through contemporary forms. It is connection with intention.

ko wai au . who am I?

Ko Ambrosia Crum ahau. He uri nō Ngāpuhi me Ngāti Whātua hoki. I am Ambrosia, the creative behind Waihonga. I am an architectural designer and worked previously as a heritage advisor caring for Māori architectural taonga. My most rewarding venture to date though has been becoming māmā to my little boys Troy, Brodi and Jett. My partner Blair and I recently purchased our first property near Ōkaihau to return home to our whānau to enjoy this precious time with our pēpi. Waihonga allows me to focus on my creative practice, connect to my Māoritanga in new ways and create a solid foundation for my whānau.
